Features: Parametric EQ isn't in the app yet, but that's supposedly coming next month. Volume buttons on your IEM's cable won't work (yet). You can select the codecs from the Qudelix app, which is nice if you have one of the few aptX Adaptive devices as otherwise it prioritizes LDAC, it seems. The app has about as many features as the Radsone ES100's app, with more to come, and anyone who had the ES100 knows that it got some fantastic post-launch support. If you like to equalize your earphones and have full control of the DAC functionality then the Qudelix 5K is the one to have. Same here, not much to comment - even though it's plastic + metal clasp, the built quality is very SOLID. The BTR5 is also very well built.

I have the BTR5, which is metal and glass, as well as the Qudelix. It has very poor range, compared to the Qudelix. It's fine, if you are right beside it, but Qudelix continues to work in the next room where the BTR5 starts to cut out. As far as the QUDELIX 5k - I can say without a doubt that it sound MUCH better than the BTR5 - not a BIT but MUCH. Also, compared to my Xperia 1 II output, it also sounds wider with more headroom, and it's VERY VERY close to the Dragonfly Cobalt, which costs 2.5 times more (the Cobalt has slightly better top-end extension and separation, you have to REALLY listen to it to realise). Suffice to say, I've already sold the COBALT since I have no use for it anymore. At the front face there is a very small but useful 0.49" OLED display that allows the user to configure the menus without the need to open the FiiO control application. has a 500mA Li-Polymer Battery. Manufacturer: VDL (http://www.gdvdl.com/) Please note that the battery times may differ across each use case. The battery time varies across the codec, sample rate,...

What is more is that the 5K supports the open source AutoEq project which helps users to load and apply eq presets from the AutoEq project. The only thing I wish is easily accessible internal and replaceable, in the event that one component (battery etc) failed, one have the possibility to fix it. I have used various earphones, like the FiiO FA7S and Penon Vortex, the Sennheiser HD660S while the listening tests included both wired and Bluetooth connections. The mobile application works over Bluetooth and the PC application over USB connection while 5K automatically stores all the settings and reloads them at the boot-up next time.I’d be lying if I said I bought the Qudelix 5K without reservation. My previous encounters with ESS chip-based DACs have been less than pleasant. I expected stringent highs and the meme “hi-end” sound that instantly wows with detail but fatigues in minutes. It is accompanied by a great application that is available for all platforms and allows for an in-depth customization and furthermore it has embedded a PEQ/GEQ (64-bit double precision) pro-grade equalizer with additional support for the open source AutoEq project. Imagine a 5K with 4.4 mm, scroll wheel (Like the go blu), larger battery, latest BT chip, improved amp, wireless charging etc! The battery holds okay for my on-the-go needs, but don’t expect it to last an entire day without charging.

In practical terms, the power output should be enough for most dynamic headphones and more sensitive planars, depending on how much headroom is sacrificed to the gods of DSP. Bluetooth:Generally pretty stable, though it is more stable over aptX than LDAC for me over longer distances. At the same time, with great power comes great power draw. With 10 band PEQ correction running, I can spend the smallish 500mAh battery in as little as 5 hours, depending on the listening volume. And that’s with sensitive IEMs. Running adventurous DSP configs with hungrier full-size headphones will drain the battery even faster. You can configure the 5K either from the mobile application, which is available for Android and iOS, or the PC Chrome extension. This is really the main advantage of the Qudelix compared to its competitors. The app is quite simply fantastic. It has all of the features a user would ever want, including an excellent parametric equalizer. The app is very well done, with a great user interface, and includes things like a battery graph, volume controls, Bluetooth codec selection DAC/AMP mode, DAC filters, output power and even days under warranty remaing. It is miles ahead of what Fiio or Shanling offer and still gets regular updates. Hi guys , I realize I'm quite happy with my s22 ultra + tidal + DAC + IEM / Low impedance headphones , so I want to buy a new DAC , something versatile I can use with BT or cable depending the convenience , I think the Qudelix have an amazing APP and I love the idea but the BTR5 seams a more reliable device , or I'm wrong ? Because all this features are funny for a while but at the end of the day you want something trouble free that doesn't let you down and stop working after a while , opinions ? Thanks in advance

In addition to the output power mode option, Qudelix's proprietary software drives ES9219C DAC/AMP in two different ways, to trade off the battery time and Sound Quality. As seen in the app, one can expect up to 2VRMS SE and 4VRMS BAL out of the 5K. It’s a smart rating for a portable device, as battery power means limited voltage. Overall, the listening experience is very palatable with all headphones. The copious DSP options allow me to craft correction curves, which, in my opinion, make the greatest sonic improvement. I can effortlessly wrangle the Monarch’s treble peak and add the missing sparkle on the Arias. The sound output is really really impressive for a wireless dac. I say this comparing it to my Abigail Dac. This 5k has neutral tuning with slight boost in bass. The equalizer is effective and processes every incoming audio from everywhere: Youtube, Apple Music, Spotify, iOS, Android, PC, Bluetooth (all Codecs), and USB. There are LED lights under each button that (by default) turn on whenever the buttons are pressed or when pairing the device; blue to the right and red to the left.
