Romney isn’t particularly big, so this is on the more expensive side for an Easter treat, but for fans of both dark chocolate and marshmallows it’s a must.

I used to love a Malteser bunny or reindeer, and this bunny is a great vegan dupe for that. Its cute rabbit shape makes it perfect for children, while the cookie dough filling is decadent enough to be enjoyable for grownups too. The chocolate is slightly darker in colour, and the flavour is a little more fruity, with hints of dark cherry, which gives a really nice contrast to the egg itself.

I think they’d work particularly well as an alternative Easter egg hunt, as the little boxes are the perfect size for hiding in small places.

Chemist Joseph Terry joined a York sweets company in 1823, where he developed new lines of chocolate, candied peel, and marmalade. [1] In 1830 he became sole owner of the business [2] and following his death it was eventually passed to his sons, including Joseph Jr. who managed the company. [3] In 1895 it became Joseph Terry and Sons Ltd., with directors including Joseph Jr. and his own son Thomas. [4] The chocolate has a deeply satisfying snap when you break a piece off, and the taste is on the rich, earthy side of the flavour spectrum, with woody tobacco notes. It’s just bitter enough to know that it’s a good quality dark chocolate, but doesn’t dry out your mouth too much. There are 5 decadent truffle flavours available: Hazelnut Crunch, Fine De Champagne, Chocolate Orange, Honeycomb Caramel, and Chocolate Salted Caramel (this is the flavour that we tried). The Peanut Butter Jelly Nutmilk and Salted Caramel & Nutmilk truffles were particularly delicious, but in total, you have six delicious flavours to relish. I recommend using a good quality orange extract (not an essence) to get the best orange flavour in these cupcakes. I like to use the brand Nielsen Massey

22. Chocolate Orange Yule Log

The vegan white chocolate is made using rice and oat milk so it melts with ease, filling your mouth with a buttery sweetness and creamy vanilla flavour. The biggest of all the chocolate orange eggs I managed to find on my travels was in Morrisons. Like other shops, the own-brand range was limited primarily to their 'Best' range with other treat options such as single chocolate lollipops, an egg hunt kit or bite-sized eggs being cheaper.
