About this deal

Many of its flagship rivals have higher-resolution displays, with Samsung, HTC and LG all equipping their top-tier phones with QHD panels, while the Sony Xperia 1 goes a step further with a 4K display. Huawei has gone from strength to strength in recent years, and the P30 Pro is its most accomplished smartphone to date. Huawei P30 Pro price and availability Instead, the P30 Pro, like the Mate 20-series of phones before it, only supports Huawei’s nano memory cards. These are physically smaller but more expensive than their micro-sized equivalents, and so make almost no sense whatsoever. Still, with at least 128GB of internal storage, you probably won’t need one anyway. Huawei P30 Pro review: Display The P30 Pro also has the fastest in-screen fingerprint scanner we have ever used (which is still not as fast or as reliable as a traditional fingerprint reader) and the fastest charging on a mainstream phone.

Since the ban, however,Huawei has revealed that it will be bringing the Android Qupdate to theP30 Pro, in addition to “popular current devices”, despite the ongoing trade ban. There’s no word yet on when this update might drop, but you can see the full list of Huawei phones that are set to receive the Android Q upgrade in our dedicated Huawei ban article.

Third, the Huawei P30 Pro has seen an upgrade to its camera zoom capabilities. This time around you’ll find an 8-megapixel, f/3.4 unit with up to 5x optical zoom – a big upgrade on last year’s 3x zoom. Huawei has achieved this by using a periscope-style housing, tilting the camera on its side and capturing the image via a tiny mirror. This is why, if you look closely enough, this third camera is square in appearance, not circular. Chinese brand Huawei has succeeded in beating out the big names when it comes to phone cameras. The quad-camera set-up of the Huawei P30 Pro is one of the best -- if not the best -- on the market. The only rival in this area is the Google Pixel 3, and the Huawei is better in many ways. Though cameras are definitely the main selling point, the P30 Pro is a great phone in its own right. it offers an contrast-rich OLED display, amazingly long battery life, an attractive waterproof design, and plenty of power under the hood. UK Pricing The Kirin 980 works alongside 8GB of RAM on the Pro and 6GB of RAM on the regular P30, while gaming and graphics are taken care of by the Mali G76 GPU. Finally, the Huawei P30 Pro comes with an IP68 rating, meaning it’s dust- and water-resistant, and able to withstand being submerged for up to 30 minutes in fresh water. Display Put your android phone in a small bag plastic/polythene with rice and seal/tie it and keep it for an one day or two day after that it will be dry.

During the day, the P30 Pro shoots photos that look okay, but whether it was because of the new sensor or something else, there is a very noticeable yellow tint to photos and the colors overall don't look as lively and animated as you see on other phones. You get plenty of detail, but as evidenced in our blind camera test, the overall look from the photos during the day is not something that resonates well with most people, at least when compared to the very best smartphone cameras out there. Huawei says that the fingerprint on the P30 Pro, however, is 30% faster and improved. We were a bit skeptical at first, but after using it for a while, we are now convinced that there is indeed a big improvement. It’s still not as fast and accurate as a traditional capacitive fingerprint scanner, but it’s so much more reliable than those earlier attempts. Good job, Huawei! And the P30 fingerprint reader works equally well. There option called Sound/Ringing and you have to drag that DOT to 10 (full) position. then you can hear sound.. or there is a switch to change the status. The screen, and the protective Gorilla Glass glass covering it, are now curved, allowing for a slimmer-feeling profile in the hand, and a look which is very similar to that of the Samsung Galaxy S10 Plus. The P30 Pro is a large but very good-looking phone, weighing 192 g and measuring 158.01 mm xx 73.37 mm x 8.41 mm. Crafted from glass and aluminium it supports wireless charging and is rated IP68 dust and waterproof. The 6.47-inch curved edge OLED display with HDR 10 support is contrast-rich, colourful and bright, though testers note that the FHD+ resolution is below that offered by other top brands. Powerful Performance One small thing to note here is also that while the Mate 20 Pro has its fingerprint scanner almost towards the center, the actual scanner on the P30 Pro is much lower, towards the bottom of the phone. We find this to be a much better position as it’s easier to find without looking.

To sign up for the activity, xxxxx EXP will be taken from your account (current EXP: xxxxxx). Continue? This screen is also slightly better than the one on the Mate 20 Pro. The Mate had a very slight greenish cast, while this one here has more balanced colors and just looks nicer. Bang & Olufsen Beoplay H9i Wireless Bluetooth Over-Ear Headphones with Active Noise Cancellation, Transparency Mode and Microphone – Natural - 1645046 Slow Motion, Panorama, Time Lapse, HDR, Night Mode, Bokeh Mode, Pro Mode, AI Features, Scene Detection, Time-of-Flight CameraOn the base of the P30 Pro a central USB-C port is flanked by a speaker on one side and the SIM tray on the other. The SIM tray can hold two nanoSIM cards, providing dual-SIM capabilities, but you can opt to use the second slot to expand the storage on the handset instead. Both the P30 and the Pro ship with Huawei’s latest EMUI interface version 9.1, running on top of Android 9, and this new custom EMUI version looks better than before. Huawei has redrawn some of the icons, so they now look better and it takes inspiration from silk and paint for the wallpaper styling. The overall aesthetic is one of premium styling, and as well as looking good it feels classy in the hand. The primary snapper is an optically-stabilised 40-megapixel unit with a wide aperture of f/1.6. What’s particularly special here is that, rather than using an RGB Bayer filter on top of the sensor to capture in full colour, this camera employs the less commonly used RYB filter, replacing the green elements of the filter with yellow. The same can’t be said about Huawei’s fiddly camera app. It’s overly complex and can be an incredibly convoluted and confusing experience, even for veteran photographers. If you want to access the wide-angle and zoom shooting modes, for instance, you have to switch from the phone’s maximum 40-megapixel shooting resolution to 10-megapixels and tediously cycle through each mode. There’s nothing in the camera software that tells you this beforehand. Huawei P30 Pro review: Verdict

As expected, the phone uses the firm’s own Kirin 980 mobile chipset, which is built using a 7nm fabrication process. This 2.6GHz octa-core processor first featured in last year’s Mate 20 Pro and is more power efficient than older chips built on 10nm or larger. In theory, the smaller fabrication process means more power for the same size chip and better battery life, which is certainly something we noticed with the Mate 20 Pro. Still, the P30 Pro’s screen is capable of reaching a peak luminance of 854cd/m ² in the phone’s auto-brightness mode and, with this being an OLED panel, colour contrast is effectively perfect. Huawei P30 Pro review: Performance and battery life With the tiny teardrop notch on the P30 Pro, you also do not get the secure 3D face recognition that Huawei had on the Mate 20 Pro. And that’s a shame! Face recognition on the Mate 20 Pro worked very well in different conditions, while the P30 Pro fingerprint scanner is not quite as reliable and effortless. Huawei explains that all of this is because of its focus on making the phone as compact as possible, with as tiny a notch as possible, so that’s the price you pay for the compact size. And since we have started pointing out the flaws in EMUI that you probably will not hear about anywhere else, let us also point out some other weird decisions that Huawei has made. For example, you do have a raise to wake function on the P30 Pro, which works mostly well, but for some weird reason is disabled by default and hidden in settings. It’s almost like Huawei does not want you to use the coolest features in its interface!Odd features aside, the Huawei P30 Pro is the firm’s most attractive, well-designed smartphone to date. I even think it looks better than the recently launched Galaxy S10 Plus, which takes some doing.
