As you can see by the above results, the NZXT Kraken G12 in combination with the Kraken X42 140mm AIO CPU cooler has made a massive dent in comparative performance to the ASUS Direct CUIII GPU cooler on our test bench GTX 1060. At full load under a 10 minute run of Furmark while at a steady room temperature of 26c (it gets warm in the office), the NZXT GPU cooling solution managed to shave off an impressive 20c from the already powerful aftermarket card. Now my system runs far quieter without the 3 FTW3 fans spinning to around 60% to achieve temps of 73C. Turns out in my re-configuration of fans, the AIO fan was running at a low speed and the air was effectively cooling the GPU passively. Due to the large variety of non-reference Graphic Cards, we are unable to test and verify compatibility for all cards. This does not mean the G12 will not work with your GPU. The Kraken G12 is compatible with most Asetek based AIO Liquid Coolers. This includes, but is not limited the NZXT Kraken Z and Kraken Xseries, as well as the newer Kraken and Kraken Eliteseries coolers. The G12 is not compatible with the Kraken M22 or Kraken 120 coolers, as these do not use the standard Asetek style mounting plate. Is the Kraken G12 only compatible with NZXT branded AIO coolers? You can buy a GPU fan header to PWM adapter if you want to connect the fans directly to the GPU to control via Precision XOC. I didn't because I didn't need too, I use speedfan to control my speeds. I'm finding it hard to know exactly which GPU's and Liquid AiO coolers the Kraken G12 is compatible with. I know they have a compatibility list( https://support.nzxt.com/hc/en-us/articles/360022412653-What-All-In-One-Liquid-Coolers-Are-Compatible-With-The-Kraken-G12-), but they also mention that they are compatible with almost any referance and non-reference card and most AiO coolers with circular design. There is a plastic ring which comes with the h55 and it needs to be used, once I figured this out, plain sailing. You will have to offer the GPU to the computer to make sure the hoses go to the desired fan exhaust. After installing and playing some BFV at the same settings I noticed the temperatures were good! In the low 50sC BUT they were rising very slowly but surely to the high 60s. I was pretty frustrated at first and when I touched the AIO hoses and rad, they were very hot! So I was started to get frustrated thinking all this was a waste OR my AIO pump was dead maybe but I could hear it working.According to the compatibility list, RTX 2080 cards should be supported regardless of PCB style, as only the 2080 Ti cards are marked as only supporting reference PCBs:

The only concern I have is VRM temperatures and I don’t believe the cooling fan is adequate to properly cool the surface area of bare VRMs over prolonged periods of time. It would have been nice for NZXT to include some small VRM heat sinks to maximise heat dissipation. Other than this, it’s a big thumbs up from me! Not only does the G12 support NZXTs Kraken X42/X52/X62 all in one coolers, but models from companies such as Corsair, Antec, Thermaltake and even Zalman. The Kraken G12 is compatible with most Asetek based AIO Liquid Coolers, which does include some models made by other manufacturers. I did not use any form of heatsink or assistive cooling on the VRAM or power, I only used what was in the box of the G12. AND I noticed a drop of 10C on the power delivery and VRAM. YMMV of course.
