About this deal

Last man standing: Cillian Murphy in 28 days Later from 2002. Photograph: Allstar Picture Library/Alamy Don't expect it to arrive any time soon, though. Speaking at the London Film Festival in October, Knight confirmed he plans to work on a Peaky Blinders movie "set in and shot in Birmingham" after season 6's release – meaning full-scale development on the project isn't likely to begin until later on in 2022. Naturally, that didn't happen, but relaxed restrictions on UK television and film production at the beginning of 2021 meant filming did eventually begin in January last year, before wrapping in May. There are four rows and pictures for what you may collect on each of the four sections, so straight away you’re consulting the rulebook regularly to work out which circle means what. You’ll add your tokens in turn to collect items. These tokens are your henchmen – strength, charisma, and intelligence. It’s a surprising choice these weren’t made to be personalities from the show. The henchmen have differing likelihood per dice roll of achieving the item and number of them (upgrades, resources, money, etc) for each of the three. You’ll roll in turn, but it results in a lot of downtime.

So while series six will be the last, the franchise will live on. A dance-theatre production, written by Knight and choreographed by the Rambert dance company, is due to open at the Birmingham Hippodrome later this year before a nationwide tour. A feature film is in the works. Knight has said it may spawn further TV shows. He says the 6 Music programmes have been satisfying to do because it’s just about the tunes – Masayoshi Fujita to Al Green to T Rex – without any element of revelation. “I couldn’t do live radio – I’d find that absolutely terrifying,” he says. “I like just sitting down here in the dark, coming up with the playlists.” To listen to him, you would think he sits at home all the time, making the odd furtive expedition to Tesco. MI6 have received a secret message from a mysterious source. A 00 agent has been eliminated and it is up to James Bond and his allies to travel the world to identify the culprit, the weapon used to defeat the agent and the location in which the crime took place. Play as 007, Moneypenny, Q, M, Tanner or Felix Leiter and use your skills to solve the mystery. With locations, villains and six bespoke weapon tokens from over 50 years of 00 action, it?s your chance to take on a mission. Travel around the board and ask the right questions to eliminate evidence. Was it Rosa Klebb with the Golden Bullet in Casino Royale? Or could it have been Xenia Onatopp in Atlantis with the Mechanical Arm? The answer is For Your Eyes Only. Grab a SPECTRE card for a tactical advantage or potential penalty, and keep those case notes out of sight of your fellow agents, as you compete to be the first to solve the crime in this thrilling new version of the classic mystery game, CLUEDO. Games like this are perfect for drawing in fans of the show, and so has an opportunity to be a gateway game. There are some great TV-and-Film-to-game creations out there, which grab the attention of the otherwise disinclined – but this isn’t one of them. It’s over-complicated, unexciting, and gives us nothing to write home about.

Peaky Blinders will feature fan favourite Tom Hardy in a guest role as rival gangster/friend Alfie Solomons who re-appeared in season five. Union Bectu confirmed that it was investigating the allegations. Spencer MacDonald, one of its national secretaries, said: “The safety protocols are in place to create a safe working environment for cast and crew. Therefore the production should have informed everyone immediately and stopped filming. Otherwise a lapse like this could have contributed towards the spread of the virus. We are currently waiting for the production to respond.” Although Peaky Blinders airs on the BBC, the show is co-produced by two companies: Caryn Mandabach Productions and Tiger Aspect. The investigation could have implications for the show’s insurance. The irony of being so private about his life outside the work, in an era when some broadcast every hour the lord sends on social media, is that it makes fans even more desperate for intelligence. “I think being so private is what keeps his mystique and allure,” says Wallis. “It’s a dying trait in our culture, so when you have an actor who’s continually mysterious and evading the limelight, it creates a thirst for that person.”

Release date: Peaky Blinders season 6 began streaming on BBC iPlayer in the UK on February 27, 2022. New episodes then hit Netflix internationally on June 10.

PEAKY BLINDERS: THE RISE, the first official fully immersive experience set in the world of Peaky Blinders is coming to an end on 28 th May after an extended 9-month run in London. In the series, the Blinders expand their influence into racehorses and even politics as time goes by. The series is set in the aftermath of World War I; the latest season reaches as far as 1934. In reality, the Birmingham Boys had usurped the Blinders bythe 1920s. (They would, in turn, be overthrown by the Sabini Gang.) As time passed, the name Peaky Blinders would come to be synonymous with any Birmingham street criminals, paving the way for the urban legends that would inspire the series. A generation earlier, the BBC’s adaptation of Pride and Prejudice, which produced its own heart throb in Colin Firth’s Mr Darcy, could be argued to have sparked the start of the modern “screen tourism” phenomenon. Visitor numbers in parts of Cheshire that featured in the drama, notably Lyme Park in Disley, which served as Jane Austen’s Pemberley, rose almost 200% after the series first aired in 1995. As for its setting, we know World War II will start to loom over the story in Peaky Blinders season 6. "Because of the nature of the decade, the 1930s, we know what happened at the end – that war began. There are rumblings and rumors of war and that's overshadowing the whole thing. It makes the stakes higher," Knight told the Press Association in 2020.

We do know this new season will be the finale for the show in its original guise, but Knight has confirmed that "while the TV series will be coming to an end, the story will continue in another form.” While the TV series isn’t shot in Birmingham – streets in Greater Manchester and Liverpool serve as doubles – the TV series’ real-life association with the city has created Peaky Blinders mania for local businesses.Since the very start, Peaky Blindershas been a cinema obsessive, telling its real-life stories from its creator’s Birmingham childhood with larger-than-life Hollywood glamour. Its directors and design teams have repeatedly referenced The Godfather, designing sets and lighting in homage. Road to Perditionand countless others have been visually quoted. The beauty of the character is that he says one thing, but he’s got empathy in his eyes,” says Annabelle Wallis, who plays Tommy’s wife, Grace. “You cannot look away from them. He’s got that Irish colouring: the dark hair and the light eyes. I think what divides great actors and good actors are the eyes. I believe on a subconscious level that’s why the audience continues to love the character despite all the terrible things he does.” The Netflix/Sony co-production The Crown has sparked a holiday boost to regions including the Peak District, Lake District and the Cotswolds. Similarly Wolf Hall, the six-part adaptation of Hilary Mantel’s novels about Henry VIII and Thomas Cromwell, boosted tourism at Tudor palaces and museums across the country that were used as locations.

Over the past couple of years he has starting making music again, but only for personal interest. “I’m too hypercritical. It’s all shite. Never, ever for public consumption. But it was a good exercise. It’s healthy for the soul to let it out on something like that.” Although Peaky Blinders is mainly set in Birmingham, the filming has been spread out in Liverpool, Leeds and other parts of Yorkshire. The Classic Mystery Board Game sees you become a real detective to find clues and solve the mystery that awaits youObviously, Cillian Murphy is returning as Tommy, along with the other usual Shelby suspects, including Paul Anderson as Arthur Shelby. The psychological troubles Tommy experienced at the end of season 5 also triggered the ethereal apparitions of Tommy's dead wife, Grace Shelby, so we'll likely see Annabelle Wallis again, too. Nothing really set Cillian up as the obvious choice,” Knight says. “But we knew he was interested, so we met him.” Some have cruelly suggested that Murphy’s text might have been a concealed dig at Statham, but Knight says not. “What [Murphy] meant by the text was that when he walks into a room, he’s not Tommy Shelby. But he can become him. He inhabits that role completely. It’s phenomenal. It is impossible to imagine anybody else playing him.” What comes after season 6? "My plan from the beginning was to end Peaky with a movie... this is what's going to happen," Knight has said. What exactly comes after this final season of the show is a bit of a mystery, though, and Cillian Murphy has neither confirmed nor denied his interest in the project: just know that the Peaky Blinders story won't end here.
