About this deal

The power lead is only 700mm (just over 2 ft) long. For me it could do with being 1m (3ft) long so it is more placeable in use. Helps to retain natural moisture and minerals whilst serving as a large viewing window to keep an eye on your cooking Some slow cookers will automatically shift to this mode after a programme has ended, while others require switching manually. I have had a slow cooker for over 24 years ( a Tower 3 litre). Still going strong. But decided on this as an addition as have found the 3 litre capactiy often insufficient. So opted for this 6.5 litre monster! I often like to cook bigger batches and freeze some. But I will still keep the smaller one for smaller batches! The Ninja Foodi Multi-Cooker is certainly mighty, but if you like your gadgets it could be a great investment. You can of course just use this multi-cooker as a slow cooker, for which it has a generous 6 litre capacity, but you can also take advantage of the sear setting to brown meat and veggies before slow cooking for a more rich flavour. This will come in handy if you’re out for the day. Once the timer you set has been reached, the cooker will either switch off or automatically shift to the ‘keep warm’ setting, depending on the model, so you come home to dinner that's ready to serve.

As for the machine. It seems of decent quality. I wanted a simple on/off type mainly from experience. There is little need for a timer/delay etc with a slow cooker. And probably will prove to be more reliable in the long run! Some things can deter us all from cooking. Having to transfer food from a pan to a pot, cleaning up or that annoying puddle of water you get from putting the lid down on the worktop when it comes to the best slow cookers. If that's you, you need this model, which can act as a cooker and a serving pot that you can plonk down straight on the dining table. A slow cooker allows you to cook a variety of hearty meals without hassle, from a creamy korma to a homemade vegetable stew Slow cookers range in size from a compact 1.5 litres to a 6.5-litre bowl, so be sure to choose the right size for the way you intend to cook. As a rough guide, 1.5-3 litres will feed one or two people, 3-5 litres, three or four people and anything over five litres should suit a large family, with six litres or more ideal for batch cooks who like to fill the freezer. Alternatively, a larger cooker is great for those who like to eat what’s leftover for lunch the next day.Slow cookers range in capacity, from a compact 1.5 litres up to 7 litres. As a general guide, a 1.5 to 2.3-litre capacity is great for two people, a larger 4 to 4.5 litres will feed four, and 5.5 to 7 litres is ideal for four to six people. A keen home cook, she loves nothing more than whipping up new creations and experimenting in the kitchen, which often includes testing out and researching the latest time-saving kitchen must-haves including slow cookers, multi-cookers and recipe boxes. With a 3.5-litre capacity, which is ideal for families of four, the Cavaletto is super intuitive to use – I just had to turn the chunky dial to my chosen heat setting. It also has a keep warm function, something busy families will love. My only grumble on this front was that I needed to manually switch to this setting; it doesn't have an automatic timer like some more expensive models do.

With a 3.5 litre cooking bowl, you have ample space to serve up to 4-5 people, making it perfect for serving the family a delicious meal or even storing some away for another day. They also calculate the energy consumed by each model to see how economical they are, and measure the moisture lost when cooking to ensuring your dinner won't end up dried out. Save time - Prep your meals the night before then turn your slow cooker on low all day and come home to a delicious meal

When we tested its slow cooking mode we found that it's almost too good at retaining moisture. Recipes that came out more saucy in some slow cookers were a little less rich because it's also designed to be an airtight pressure cooker. That can be remedied though by adding less liquid or taking into account the liquid that will come out of meat and veggies when you add them. Litre Stainless Steel Slow Cooker Beautifully tender meats and casseroles are easily achieved with this slow cooker During testing, I carefully rated it on its features, ease of use and cleaning, design, value for money, and those all-important results, evaluating how it performed in a real-life kitchen setting in comparison to other slow cooker models I've recently tested.
