About this deal

Note: The steel mace is another tool by design that offers multi-planar strength development. However, the steel mace offers a different kind of swing and movement potential due to the long lover. So, now you know why I fully endorse and recommend the clubbell. Let me share with you some specific reasons why I do NOT recommend other similar tools… However I do think that there is a case to be made to use both, the lighter Indian clubs to warm up and establish mobility and stabilization and the heavier clubbells for additional strengthening of not only the shoulder area but also with core strengthening. Many steel club exercises incorporate swinging exercise which moves through various planes of motion. Although you could theoretically do this with other fitness tools, the steel club was designed for this purpose so it is much safer by comparison. The design of a steel club makes for a more natural and seamless swinging movement. And in all seriousness, I’m glad you enjoy using your wooden clubs. I really am. To be fair, there are purposes for which traditional clubs are better suited, and they stand alone as a superb training tool. Nobody is questioning that. And no doubt, there’s a sense of pride and tradition and old time physical culture that comes with using them, and that shouldn’t go unmentioned. But for fitness purposes, strength and conditioning, among other things, the clubbell is a superior tool overall. And if and when I find something that better serves the needs of my clients, readers, and myself, I’ll be sure to let you know.

We designed the Clubbells to have a solid steel construction, which is heavier and denser than iron and also highly rust resistant. An additional powder coating reinforces their durability. Of course, we wouldn’t necessarily recommend making clubbells a staple of your workout regimen, but it can be a fun, periodic addition to your routine. Also, one last cautionary note: due to the unwieldy nature of clubbells and the range of motion required for their use, we want to impress the importance of starting with light weight and taking care to master moves before advancing.

Are Indian clubs effective?

Steel clubs have proven to be extremely beneficial for improving grip strength for those who are recovering from injuries and have a weak grip. Of course, it’s not only beneficial for those who are rehabbing their grip strength. Not by a long shot. This benefit essentially goes hand in hand with kinesthetic training. By training for balance and coordination, you are increasing core stability. Core stability is best trained through anti-rotational exercises. Powerful core stability will allow you to take force from one side while maintaining balance. Football, basketball and soccer players will greatly understand the importance of this. BONUS Benfit: Steel clubs are a much-needed change of pace Steel club training is incredible for enhancing grip strength. By design, the weight of a steel club is unevenly distributed, which displaces the weight away from your grip. This causes your grip to be challenged in ways that most fitness tools can’t replicate. Ultimately, your grip strength will increase tenfold. The unique functional club design is a fantastic whole-body workout that provides unparalleled levels of adaptability. Adjust intensity easily by simply altering the position of your grip. Improved joint mobility and stability, muscle flexibility, and connective tissue strength – reducing the risk of injury through pre-habilitation (aka concentrated injury prevention).

The transverse plane of motion, being the swinging, rotational, and twisting movements, is the one plane that most people ignore.

Rehab/Prehab: Light Steel Clubs (5-10lbs) are particularly valuable in rehabbing joints, tendons, and small muscles, as well as preparing them for further intense workouts. The constant balancing of the weight will help your stabilizing muscles develop, helping to protect and strengthen key areas.

Macebells– The macebell excels in a handful of exercises, but they are too long for versatile use, and thus, have a very limited exercise selection. When in doubt, go for one size smaller than what you think is “probably good for you but challenging”. For example, if you are thinking about a pair of 15lb clubs for doubles, consider 10s instead, because if you choose the heavier option, you might not be able to perform the exercise properly or you will be limited in some capacity when it comes to learning everything from A to Z. You’ll be surprised how challenging steel clubs are compared to what they actually weigh. Yes, there is definitely some risk with clubbell use, as with any form of exercise. Used improperly, they can, in fact, be very dangerous. That’s why all of the instructional materials come with safety precautions and usage suggestions to minimize the risk. It’s always better to start light. Plus, simply performing more repetitions will get you to where you want to be in terms of a challenge. A pair of 15LB clubs will be good for an athlete looking for coordination, agility, and strength-endurance benefits. Which leads us to ask, why do so many people neglect the transverse plane of motion (i.e. rotational exercise)?
