an average of the other scores: it reflects both a product's function and value – with value determined by how a product Like Ultegra, the new R7000 105 derailleurs has taken on some of the features of Shimano’s mountain bike derailleurs. It is now a Shadow rear derailleur. Shimano presents these brakes as having the capacity to take up to 28mm wide tires. What we found is that the newest 105 - the R7000 has more drop than it used to (51mm vs 49mm). If you look just above the final box under where the headline says "Verdict" you'll find 2 links to the cheapest prices we could find on the web. So in answer to your question. Yes we can, and we do already. It might even have saved you 20 seconds of your time if you'd seen it!

Then you have to factor in whether the shifting control levers have one additional position than that found in Tiagra groupsets. Shimano 105 Groupset Upgrades With a 105 set-up, it does come with a direct mount option - you will need to ensure that your fork and frame are compatible. A direct-mount option means that the brake arms won't need a central bolt to attach to. Instead, they can be bolted straight to the fork/frame. Shimano says: "Offering progressive all-road performance and an even better introduction to road cycling...The new TIAGRA 4700 adopts key technologies featured on Shimano's other race-proven group sets, DURA-ACE, ULTEGRA and 105. Wiggle Ltd (In Administration). 1000 Lakeside, Suite 310, Third Floor N E Wing, Portsmouth, Hampshire, PO6 3EN, United Kingdom The next difference is that the Tiagra brakes will work well up to a 28mm wide tire. The 105 brakes are slightly longer than they were before and this allows you the prospect of running up to 30mm wide tires. Chainset

Whereas Tiagra is compatible with a 10-speed system. The large chainring is good for teeth between 46 and 52. As an aside, it means you can run new tiagra 4700 mechs with Shimano 11 speed road shifters and cassettes, or 11 speed mechs with new tiagra 10 speed shifters and any 10 speed cassette).

Cant say 100% for sure but generally speaking all Shimmy disc brakes are interchangable - even between road and mountain. So I'd say almost certainly. The only recommendation I have seen is to also swap out the road hose for the MTB hose if you want road brifters to MTB calipers. Even then I would guess they still work but you lose a little feel. As somebody who has upgraded through the Shimano groupsets, I understand the differences that a better rear derailleur or chainset can make to your overall riding experience. One of my bikes currently runs a full 105 groupset (spoiler: I think it's great). Unlike 105, Tiagra is available with a triple chainset (with three chainrings rather than two, see below). If you want to go down that route you’ll need to buy the compatible dual control levers. Dual pivot brakes The Tiagra and 105 front derailleurs are pretty similar and only differ in a couple of grams weight wise. On the other hand, Tiagra is available in a triple chainset configuration: 50-39-30. You’ll need a triple-compatible left hand shifter and front derailleur as well.

a 13-25 or 13-26 would be very good imho, the smaller the increments are, the better. campag has very good ratio 10 speed cassettes, whereas shimano forces this ridiculous trend with 11-12t starting cogs, which are mostly left untouched by free-time weekend warriors 99% of the time..

A key difference between Shimano 105 and Tiagra chainsets is that the 150 is quite a fair bit lighter than Tiagra. So, for those riders who are keen to minimize weight, this could be a key consideration. Front Derailleur As far as possible that means recommending equipment that we have actually reviewed, but we also include products that are popular, highly-regarded benchmarks in their categories. Shimano calls its latest calliper design SLR-EV Dual Pivot and this is now found on 105 (above), Ultegra and Dura-Ace. The new symmetrical twin pivot design equalises the braking forces through each arm for better control and power. Shimano claims (and I have no reason to doubt them) that the 11-speed 105 groupset is the most popular in the world.Unfortunately we can no longer get hold of the HG50 cassette in the 11-32T ratio, but we do have plenty of other Shimano cassettes in the 11-32T ration that can be fitted and used instead. The nearest equivalent performance wise would be the HG400, these are SJSC part number 36278. I have what is mainly a 10sp triple Shimano 105 setup (5703) and a Shimano XT Shadow 9sp (M772) rear derailleur on my 'winter' bike. In my experience it shouldn't require any special contorting at the pinch bolt (the so-called 'hubhub' method?) and the only adaptation I've had to make is to cut the cable outer to insert a Jagwire inline adjuster as this particular model of rear mech does not have a barrel adjuster.
