As construction industry professionals we developed the BBS to provide a "works every time" solution to the problem that's being discussed, having experienced it first hand - many times. The current solution — replacing the back box just because of a stripped lug — is time-consuming and costly, especially if the wall is re-decorated.

However, if mixed and molded behind and over the "lug" in which the thread has been stripped, it can be "tapped" while still soft by the use of the screw to be used.

The BBS is not cheap for two reasons; it's main component is a precision machined nut that cannot be made on a simple CNC lathe - its curve needs multi-axis machining and the curve is there so it fits as many different makes of backbox as possible.faceplate screw can re-used in most cases even if the thread has been damaged as the Back Box Saver has been designed to overcome this problem. I've been] replacing sockets and switches around the house for aesthetic purposes and really didn't want to have to start replacing the back boxes.
