About this deal

Our mission is to demystify the world of beer, offering insights on its rich history, brewing techniques, and diverse styles. Upon the end of WW2, and after Pierre Celis started brewing Hoegaarden again in 1965, the beer thrived. Many were upset due this change in ownership, but the change did ensure that the once great Hoegaarden was brewed at the same rate if not a faster rate than when it was in its prime before WW2.

Known for owning major breweries like Budweiser, Corona and even Belgium’s Stella Artois, the company is a colossally major player in the world of brewing. When it entered the international market in the 1970s and ’80s, Hoegaarden had to compete against wildly popular, insanely drinkable lagers. Almost 600 years ago in the Belgian village of Hoegaarden®, a band of monks experimented by adding oddball botanicals from halfway around the world to their traditional wheat beer. While we have taken care in preparing this summary and believe it to be accurate, it is not a substitute for reading the product packaging and label prior to use. However, by the 1950s all these breweries had closed their doors due to the style going out of favour, with the beer drinking world being engulfed by the lager tide.

Hoegaarden Brewery ( / ˈ h uː ɡ ɑːr d ən/, Dutch: [ˈɦuɣaːrdə(n)] ⓘ) is a brewery in Hoegaarden, Belgium, and the producer of a witbier, which is different from a wheat beer. On tasting we get a wheaty base flavour with citrus coming up, though more orange than lemon this time. This article reads like a press release or a news article and may be largely based on routine coverage. It’s a radler that contains only 2% alcohol by volume, making it ideal for game days and family gatherings. Celis used the traditional ingredients of water, yeast, wheat, hops, coriander, and dried Curaçao orange peel known as Laraha. Beer brewing was first recorded in the village of Hoegaarden in 1445, with the local monks brewing a ‘white beer’ that became famous throughout Belgium. Still to this day Hoegaarden is known for its distinct bottles, the label’s patriotic color scheme, and their history rich logo.

An alcohol-free version of Hoegaarden is something I’ve been looking forward to for a long time, so lets crack it open and hope we’re not disappointed. By the 1800s there were 13 breweries in the small village, such was the popularity of their wheaty output. Abhinav has spent majority of his time working with American home-brew clubs to gain extensive knowledge on beer brewing, style history and sensory skills. AB InBev India, the leading beer and beverage company, today announced the introduction of a new range of fruit-flavoured beers from Hoegaarden that is a play on the original brew infused with fruity variations. On the nose we get grains, lemony citrus and floral notes, and a touch of banana, though this is veering on bubblegum artificiality. Let the refreshing citrus and earthy coriander alleviate the stresses of modern living and whisk you to another place entirely.

This type of beer is usually top-fermented, with a larger proportion of wheat in comparison to the amount of malted barley. Tropical fruit sweetness when we taste, with more citrus coming through and bringing in the bitterness, along with some earthy notes free-beer.This process is key for drinking the beer, but upon industrialization Hoegaarden embraced using beer cans.
