GM 200-4R transmissions are becoming harder and harder to find, but they remain a great replacement for an older two-speed Powerglide or a three-speed Turbo Hydra-Matic. The reason for this is because you don’t have to make major adjustments. Plus, the fourth gear lets the engine rotate at a lower RPM, reducing fuel consumption and wear and tear on the drivetrain. You can also change the larger rear axle ratios without affecting streetability. Also have a Tokina SZX 80-200 that is tiny and darn sharp. I grabbed it in immaculate conditions for 15€ boxed... yeah, it happens sometimes...

Could not resist buying it but I have no intention to adapt manual zooms to my A7RII + MC-II camera system. The focusing ring is for me in the wrong direction too. I have a Tokina AT-X 90mm 2.5 with a PK mount adapted to EF but focusing remains odd for me.Today’s 4L60E finds its rooting from the 700R4 and like the latter, it has a .70:1 overdrive gear and basic design. The 200-4R, on the other hand, features a ratio of .67:1 which is known to be more aggressive and allow the engine to move 3 percent slower down a highway. 200-4R vs. 700R4 Differences These lenses also vary a lot in size and handling. For example, the Soligor is appealingly tiny while the exceptionally well-made and heavy Kiron would make a very effective weapon in a cage fight. Despite this, they are still a great choice of transmission if one is looking to increase the MPG (Miles Per Gallon) and reduce the RPM as the vehicle moves down the highway. Your choice of which should be determined by the use you want to put it to. Definitely! You will need to rely on their pan bolt count and pattern.

I routinely use it on a 16 MP APS-C crop body, with a 2x teleconverter (!), and the sharpness at select apertures (I'd say f/6.7 to f/9.5) is fantastic. Today, many vehicles still use the 200-4R transmission to give older cars an overdrive gear and more horsepower. Features of GM 200-4R Transmissions Above: So far so similar, but unlike the internal zoom on the EF model in the middle, the two RF lenses flanking it employ extending barrels which retract when zoomed to 70mm. So with all three lenses now set to 70mm, notice how the two RF lenses have shrunk considerably, compared to the older EF lens which has of course stayed exactly the same size.The 200-4R vs the 700R4 transmission comparisons show their strengths and weaknesses as well as their similarities and differences. They may have been released in the 1980s, but where one fails the other makes up for it. It’s also worthy to note that the 200-4R vs 700R4 strength has been improved from what they were a couple of years ago. Telling a 700R4 apart from the 200-4R is thankfully quite easy, and doesn’t require you to look under the hood. The 200-4R comes with a unique-looking 16-bolt transmission pan, much like the 700R4 and 4L60 but completely different in design. The pans on the 700R4 and 4L60 are square, whereas the 200-4R tapers off on one side. The TH350, on the other hand, looks much like the 200-4R but comes with only 13 bolts.
